Product Details

'Harbour Days' depicts the 'C. and F.Nurse, a two masted steel topsail schooner and the wooden hulled ketch 'Fanny Jane'. The 'C and F. Nurse' was built at Falmouth by W.H.Lean in 1900, official no.109222.

She was owned for many years by the Nurse family of Gloucester. They use to trade from the Westcountry, mainly out of Bridgwater, Somerset.

Her register closed in 1935 and she became a barge renamed 'Enterprise'. Eventually she was beached on the banks of the Severn and her remains were covered at a later date to strengthen the riverbank.

The wooden ketch 'Fanny Jane' was built at Bridgwater, Somerset in 1858 by Gough. She too traded in the West Country out of Bridgwater.

In her early years, she was involved in the brick trade to Ireland. She was the last vessel to sail out of Bridgwater without power. She became a lighter in 1958 and was still afloat in 1960.
